The landscape for the Swallowcliffe Primary School, which has a focus Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), provides the students with beautiful places to learn outdoors in a nature inspired environment.
Play and physical activity is an important part of student’s development but is not always suited to all students. Hence Outerspace Studios created spaces for a range of abilities from jumping and running to comfortable seating areas to enjoy lunch or chill out.
Landscapes in educational environments are also integral to nurturing positive social and communication skills. Our process included designing spaces uniquely scaled allowing for intimate gatherings and even individuals to take their own space.
Our planting palette layers between allowing views through and providing students with some moments of privacy.
