Felixstow Urban Renewal Reserve

  • Client: SA Housing Trust
  • Location: Kaurna / Felixstow
  • Scope: Concept, Documentation, Contract Administration
  • Completed: 2023
As part of the Felixstow Neighbourhood Renewal Project, a best practice stormwater management system has been implemented, including a newly created public open space with a fully integrated detention basin. The reserve is bordered by Shirley, Fraser and Reid Avenues and provides quality open space for newly created affordable housing in the surrounding neighbourhood.
The project is part of the wider neighbourhood renewal undertaken by SAHA in collaboration with City of Norwood Payneham and St Peters. Outerspace Studios were engaged to develop the landscape design including rain garden planting adjacent inlet/outlet points, pedestrian pathways, understorey and tree planting, informal recreation area and information signage.
The result is a multi-functional open space that responds to the changing needs of the area and its residents through upgraded stormwater infrastructure and a high quality green space for the growing community.
