For Carrington’s new outdoor space we are inspired by an iconic Victorian landscape and creating a sense of adventure in a natural setting. The playscape includes a hiking trail, mountain range, pretend campsites, a movement play area. Water play brings a sense of adventure and excitement of a holiday to this neighbourhood playspace.
The new play space provides opportunities for play exploration, discovery and learning for all abilities and ages. The design encompasses play for children on the Autism Spectrum and diverse and different sensory experiences for children’s development. The elements provide for different type of children’s play; exploratory, cause-and-effect, toy (or ‘functional’), constructive play, physical play and pretend play.
